A freelance, integrated graphic designer and photographer with over 20 years’ experience. I have worked for creative agencies big and small as well as working independently for my own client base.
Starting out as a print designer, I have a thorough understanding of printing techniques and have experience taking a job from initial briefing through design and artwork, to final adjustments on press.
I have extensive experience working across all design disciplines including Identity and branding, packaging, brochures and book design. In more recent years I have also worked on website/UI design and have a good working knowledge of CSS and HTML. I have experience building sites as well as working with developers.
Alongside graphic design work, I also work as a photographer which has allowed me to produce product and location images in-house.
Working for my own clients has given me a good knowledge of realistic timescales, project planning and budgeting.

During my time as a freelance designer / photographer, I have enjoyed a variety of roles and disciplines. Much as changed during my career with the march of technology. I’ve always been keen on developing my skills to adapt to new trends allowing me to offer new skills and services.

Jaywing), DKPM and Vivid.
Website Design, Working predominantly for my own client base, I have produced websites for mainly local companies and organisations. Recently, Wordpress has been my preferred platform as well as Perch CMS for smaller sites. I have also worked alongside PHP developers to create custom platforms for e-Commerce sites such as the Iron Maiden online store as well as complex intranet sites.

Throughout my career as a graphic designer, I have used my passions and skills as a photographer to showcase customers’ work through product and location photography.
Being able to offer product and lifestyle photography alongside the design of print and online media allows me to fully control the look and feel of a project without the expense and inconvenience of art direction with a 3rd party photographer.

I have become known as one of the country’s leading landscape photographers, particularly when it comes to trees and woodland. My book, With Trees was published in July 2014.

I worked on a wide range of creative projects ranging from point of sale, packaging and promotional items for high profile PlayStation games through to packaging and print for one of the UK’s leading Digital TV organisations. Other work included brochures, identity work, POS and advertising for an international client base.
I was responsible for setting up and running in-house photography studio which allowed us to take advantage of the then emerging digital process.I Directed various photoshoots, ranging from set ups for advertising through to directing Premier League footballers for the This Is Football PlayStation title.
